Rain, rain, go away!

We noticed this morning that the sump pump has been doing its job.  In fact, in the 45 minutes before we left for work this morning it cycled 3 times - should I be worried?  At least it's doing its job, but man, I hope the basement is still dry when I get home tonight.  (And I hope the house doesn't slide down the hill!)  It's been raining for over a month now here in Seattle.  The back corner of our house is built into a hill, which I believe is the culprit for the majority of the water.  The drainage on that corner from the roof isn't awesome, but I think I have that pretty well diverted.  I wonder if there's anything more I can do?

Come to think of it, I'm now thinking I should divert more of our roof-water down to the sidewalk instead of into the front yard...  Perhaps a trip to the HD is in order tonight.

Pretty sunbreaks today, though! And I saw some flowers peeking out. But yeah, I want down into our basement after last nights deluge and found a puddle in one corner. Hopefully we'll get a break soon.
