Cabinet over sink
Nick made a mock up of what we're planning on for a cabinet over the sink. We already know we're going to lower it a couple of inches so the shelf on top is a bit bigger. We are also going to bring the end in a bit to prevent people from walking into to the corner of it and giving themselves a black eye. There will be lighting above the top shelf and under the cabinet. Our plan is to keep the everyday stuff (plates, glasses, bowls, etc.) here so everything is very accessible. We discussed if we wanted doors or not, and right now our plan is to have doors on both sides that lift up and stay up while you put things in or take them out. Our concern about not having doors would be that all our dishes don't match and it wouldn't look that great. Then again, we might not care what it looks like and everyone can look at the mix and match dishes and glassware that we have. Anyone have open cabinets? Do you like them or would doors be better? (Mary K- I know you had open cabinets for a long time- what do you think)? Here's what the plywood mock-up cabinets look like:

Considering that Nick and Atticus started their day off hanging out in bed for awhile this morning, Nick got a lot done. Just imagine what the two of them will be able to do once Atticus can help!
Disclaimer: we know that Atticus shouldn't sleep with the blanket and the pillow, they were just resting together!
