Why don't we just build a window, Part Three

Nick and Phil have been busy.  They say it's going a bit slower than they thought, but since this is the first window, they are being very careful. A wrong cut on this project would be a huge setback.

Here's a picture of the profile of the stiles and rails:

Yesterday they finished building the frame of the window... okay I think it's really called the sash. For a great article about old windows, check out this post at House in Progress.Today I think they're working on the "frame", the part that the glass and sash go into. I think I need to study House in Progress' posts a little more and brush up on my window terminology. Anyways... here's a pic:

Great work, Nick and Phil!  Today they are hoping to build the frame. My job is to research exterior paint with a lifetime guarantee and go get a quart of the primer. Has anyone used life-time guarantee paint? What kind?  I need to make my decision fairly quick, but any input would be great.

I'll try to post another update after today's progress!

I've never heard of lifetime guarantee paint. I've heard either top of the line Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams are the way to go. We were thinking of using a Sikkens stain, that's designed for doors an windows, might be a lot of maintenance, especially with our climate. The sash looks awesome by the way, can't wait to see it in the frame.

Apparently Sherwin Williams offers a "lifetime guarantee" exterior paint now.  They have to come out and inspect the prep work in order to get the guarantee.
