    Well, I'm done varnishing the overhead cabinets by the sink.  I think I'm going to put an extra coat on the rest of them, since they will see a bit more use.   • Details take time

    We have been making progress lately, but it seems like the finishing details take so long. The nook is 90% done. Nick has to make the drawer fronts, we need to paint the windows, and then do a final coat of varnish and paint on the entire nook.   • Nook progress

    I haven't made any progress towards varnishing the baking center cabinets, unless you count cleaning the kitchen. But Nick's been working on the breakfast nook.   • Bring out the sandpaper

    We're staying in town for Thanksgiving next week & my mind is beginning to wander. What will we be able to accomplish? I'm hoping to take out the sandpaper and varnish and finish the face frames of the cabinets. That way, when Nick's finished building the cabinet doors, the frames will be all ready to go.
