This is the drawer Nick and his dad made to hold the garbage, recycling and glass recycling bins. I love it!

As I type this Nick is ''plugging'' any of the little holes in the
concrete countertops with slurry. Or he's buffing some of the
counters, I'm not sure. Anyways, we're plugging away on a couple of
projects: Nick laid tile around the fireplace last weekend and now we
just have to grout it; the countertops are getting closer to ...

Well, I'm done varnishing the overhead cabinets by the sink. I think I'm going to put an extra coat on the rest of them, since they will see a bit more use. Then I can put the shelf liner on and put things away. It's not the most exciting work, but it means that we're one small step closer to putting on the countertops, then the cabinet ...

I sanded the bases for all the cabinets (except the face front by the fridge) and put the first coat of varnish on all of the cabinets, except the island. It went pretty smoothly, but I forgot how long it can take. Nick and I will move the countertop off of the island and I can put a coat on that later tonight. If I get a lot done tomorrow I ...

I'm giddy just thinking that I will have real countertops
installed in the next couple of weeks.
Nick and his dad have made great progress. I'm sure Nick will explain
