Thanks to the Holiday weekend, I was able to tackle more of the skim
coating on the walls by the staircase. It’s looking pretty good,
until you look really close. There are sections that I’m very
proud of, but I’m still learning how to apply a smooth skim coat
without tool marks like they describe in the

Projects around the house can deplete money in a savings
account quickly. If it isn't the cost of the materials, then it is the
expense of the new tool that is needed to do the job correctly. Granted, the
cost of the tool is usually less than it would cost to bring someone in to work
on the project for one day, but it adds up fast.
